I made a running shot on a coyote at probably 200 yards. Didn't think I'd hit it but everything lined up perfect. I got lucky but I'll take it. What shot did you make that surprised you?

Shot a "foo foo" bird (Junco at 200 yards) in the head with my Mossberg 640K!

Young and foolish! Don't kill for no reason any more!

Got a chuckle when the partender handed me this when i asked for a shot in a glass…..

I bought a used 4006 with a very short trigger reset. How short? First trip to the range, I did an unintentional double tap (surprisingly accurate). I didn't really want to have another one of those extra surprise discharges again so I spent some time learning the trigger. Tho that never happened again, I didn't carry that gun or use it in competition. After arthritis made shooting that gun uncomfortable, I gave it to a very worthy nephew.

I got a fiberglass long bow for my birthday when I was 10.
My brother and I were shooting at some pop cans.
One of my shots went low, ricocheting up off a rock into a tree. A bird fell out of that tree dead with my arrow through it.
It took me a few seconds to realize what happened.

I’ve had more than one. One comes to mind when my son and I were in Okanagon county and I was hunting does in muzzleloader season. I was new to muzzleloading. I had a .50 Thompson Center Hawken and was using patched round balls. We didn’t have much daylight left and it was raining. It was last day of the season as well. We were headed back to the truck when two does appeared about 120 yards and was walking away from us. With some coaxing from my son I tried a shot, by that time they were 150 yards away and the doe in the back that I was aiming at went down. I couldn’t believe it.
