I’m down here in (Free for a few Moths) Oregon. I just got a pair of P85 Ruger pistols. One is unfixed, or barely fired. No wear whatsoever on any of the internals. The other is in 90%+ condition. These are the 1990 versions that had the stainless slide for the first time.

These both have Uncle Mike’s rubber grips on them at the moment. The originals were included. I think I am going to order some wood grips for them, or maybe some finger groove grips for the one that has been shot, just to kinda fill out my grip. My favorite 9mm handgun is the Beretta 92 FS. It fits my hand the best. The P85 is a close second, as far as how good it feels to me in the hand.

Rare to see one, let alone two, in the original boxes to still have the mag loaders

My son lives in Washington. I found some 10 round mags for him in case he want’s to take it with him the next time he visits. He had one before. That we passed around. I think he may have kept some of the mags from that one. His was blued slide and earlier than these.

Question for you guys…,If a Washington resident has grandfathered mags, can they carry them in public. We in Oregon won’t be able to in the coming months.

Those P85s are looking awesome, especially in such excellent condition with original boxes and loaders. Wood or finger-groove grips would look great. Washington allows possession of grandfathered mags, but public carry can be restricted

My son is up in Washington. He is going to get his permit renewed. He only has one double stack handgun right now. He will have two, if and when he decides to come and collect one of these Ruger’s.

He says he doesn’t have room in his safe for even one more handgun. He says that if he takes it, he will have to buy another safe, and that would be starting him on buying more guns, until he has to get yet another safe. So, he is declining taking one of the P85’s for now.

The joke is on him though…when I die, he is getting all of my guns and gun related stuff. He is also getting what’s left of my guitars as well when I croak.

He just bought a really old Quigley Sharps in 45-70? 45-90? I’m not sure. But it was expensive. I have only seen a pic of it once.

Well, I'm a little confused.........You're talking about 10-round magazines. Those are legal under WA law:
( "Large capacity magazine" means an ammunition feeding device
with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition, or any
conversion kit, part, or combination of parts, from which such a
device can be assembled if those parts are in possession of or under
the control of the same person, but shall not be construed to include
any of the following:
(a) An ammunition feeding device that has been permanently
altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds of
ammunition;
(b) A 22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device; or
(c) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action
firearm. https://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/bien...Laws/Senate/5078-S.SL.pdf?cite=2022 c 104 s 3).

If you're talking about larger than 10 rounds, a simple call to the local PD (Get name and badge number of who he talks to!) should suffice.

BTW: I bought TWO (one for me and one for my wife) Sig P-365 10+1 9mm AFTER the ban from two different LGS's.

To clarify, I know that you can keep your high caps if you owned them before the ban. What I wanted to know was, can you use them in your CCW when out in public?

The impending Oregon ban lets you keep them, but they can only be used on private property. Your home, your business, a firing range, are ok. But walking around on the streets in town is not ok. Possession isn’tillegal, but where you possess them could be.

I've been stopped by WSP with no issues. Again, I would check with the local police!!!

Again, it appears a 10 round magazine is unaffected, as it is in Washington State!

The law reads:
"
“Large-capacity magazine” means a fixed or detachable magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, helical feeding device, or similar device, including any such device joined or coupled with another in any manner, or a kit with such parts, that has an overall capacity of, or that can be readily restored, changed, or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition and allows a shooter to keep firing without having to pause to reload, but does not include any of the following:
(A)
An ammunition feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it is not capable, now or in the future, of accepting more than 10 rounds of ammunition;

(B)

An attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with 0.22 caliber rimfire ammunition; or

(C)

A tubular ammunition feeding device that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

Later sections say relate to transfers upon death, recreational activities, et cetera:

As of December 8, 2022, it shall be an affirmative defense, as provided in ORS 166.055, to the unlawful possession, use and transfer of a large-capacity magazine in this state by any person, provided that:
(a)
The large-capacity magazine was owned by the person before December 8, 2022, and maintained in the person's control or possession; or
(b)
The possession of a large-capacity magazine was obtained by a person who, on or after December 8, 2022, acquired possession of the large-capacity magazine by operation of law upon the death of a former owner who was in legal possession of the large-capacity magazine; and..........

While engaging in the legal use of the large-capacity magazine, at a public or private shooting range or shooting gallery or for recreational activities such as hunting, to the extent permitted under state law;

You want to know why this is bullshit?
After a career in the Army in supply my last 8 years, I knew many NSNs National Stock Number.
EVERYTHING in the army has a number, feed bags for horses, dog sleds, I have seen it all.

There is NO NSN for any magazine except the 20 and 30 round standard magazine.
If any one came to the range with a non NSN magazine it would be rejected.

Commiefornia invented the 10 rd mag.

What do they teach you in the army? To ONLY use approved NSN numbered magazines.
So this state is in violation for stripping what was designed for use in an AR or M.

I will NEVER ow one, nor use one in any of the firearms I may shoot.
I take the 20 rounder to the range, and no one has ever said a thing.

Anytime the state makes in unconstitutional law, it is YOUR sworn duty to oppose it.
So said by a real American & slave lover, Andy Jackson.

Oh yeah dont tell anyone but there are boxes about with up to 500 30rd mags in them.
Not here, but with in a few minutes drive.
So what have the commie in this state done, made it so you all get stripped on yet another second amendment right.

But do not worry , Pam Bondy is on the way.
