I changed my carry gun after having kids

When my kids were young, I had to change how and where I carried to keep things secure. As they got older and understood more about safety and responsibility, I adjusted my setup again. The way you carry should evolve with your life and what makes sense at one stage may not be right at another.

Carry isn’t static, your life shifts, so your setup has to shift right along with it.

I agree with this. life changes and your setup should change with it too.

Nice you taught them the respect those items deserve, not to fear them.

I remember (vaguely) my father trying to explain “the rules” to me when I was just 6 years old. Truthfully, I was so fascinated by the .22 pump rifle that we were about to shoot (in the basement no less) I can’t remember a word he said. We moved to Cali shortly after and I didn’t see the rifle again until I was 13 when he handed it down to me. (he was working on the Gemini and/or the Apollo programs and had to relocate)

Appendix carry disappeared once my first kid started walking. There was just too many little grabby hands around. I switched over to 3 o'clock and life got a lot simpler.
