Wheel guns are obsolete for defensive use. Six rounds, slow reloads and heavy triggers don't compete with modern semi-autos. I respect them historically, and they're fun to shoot, but acting like they're better for defense is nostalgia talking, not logic. Bring on the hate!!!

Not actual “hate”. More like “semi annoyed”….😁

If the arthritis in my hands wasn’t so bad and I lived on 50 acres or so I’d still prefer to strap on a SAA. I was darn good in my day. Today….???

That said l understand the want/need to carry something with 10+ rounds however my thoughts lean towards accuracy versus volume. Doesn’t really matter how many rounds you carry if you can’t shoot accurately. Doesn’t matter how fast you can draw if you can’t hit your intended target.

Even with my hand issues, that are mild with meds, I can still hit my target quickly and accurately using either my Kimber .45 or my S&W 66-3 .357. It’s the first shot or two that mean everything not the number you carry. So, whoever decides to “play that game” with me won’t go unscathed.

I have a nice Colt Delta Elite 10mm, but I never use it as a EDC, I do carry my S&W M-60 38spl most of the time tho. It has a nice 3 lb trigger for the single action.
S&W 38 sp.webp
