Gotta give a shout out to a local business here in Wenatchee!!

Saturday, a buddy noticed we had a nail in the tire of our 4Runner. Head was worn off but looked like a 2-inch box nail. We're leaving to go to Socal in a few days, first night is in Bend. Obviously, not a good idea driving 2400 miles (round trip) with a nail in a tire! I immediately got on the phone to make an appointment to get it fixed. All the tire stores were booked for appointments until May! One could get us in at 10AM on the very morning we were leaving.

I suggested to my wife that she go as a "walk-in" to Discount tire this AM. We've always gotten good service there when buying tires. No problem!! They pulled the nail, plugged the tire and checked air pressure in all four tires!

Good one, it is good to appreciate good service when we see them..

I have always had excellent service from Les Schwab. I don't know where they find their technicians but it's refreshing that there are still polite, accommodating people around to fill those roles. It's interesting that I have never seen a help needed sign at a Les Schwab store.

Refreshing post ! Thanks to you all !

I’ve always found the folks in Leavenworth very friendly. I helped my buddy move up there from SoCal a little more than 12 years ago. We went to breakfast the morning after we arrived. When my bud mentioned that he and his wife had just recently bought a house there and he was there to move the “first load” into the home the waitress gave him a big smile and a “welcome!”. When she returned with our chow she handed him a ‘resident’ discount card good for 20% off whenever he came in. Nice !

Even the checkers at the market were extremely friendly. Not like down south in Cali where we both lived. It was a breath of fresh air knowing that places like that still existed.

The wife and I moved up to WA in 2015 and found it very similar. Of course COVID put a big dent in that years ago. It’s coming back though…..thankfully.

Here in Wenatchee, we seem to have lost some of it, although many places have retained it. We moved up in 2002 (when I was transferred by US Fish and Wildlife). Since then the small town atmosphere seems to have been lost somewhat. There has always been a "resident" camaraderie her in Wenatchee, although it has lessened somewhat as the town has grown.

I'm rambling-time for a pain p[ill.

If anyone is interested, the Washington Native Plant Society will be at the Leavenworth Bird Festival on May 16th. The wife and I will be manning the table 11:30 to 1:30. Stop by and introduce yourself!
