Binoculars...

I have always believed in having good glass when hunting, so here is what I have acquired over the last 45 yrs. These have amazing “twilight” ability and they are really rugged.

My first pair was Zeiss 10x40 $800 (no picture), I bought them in '82 and had them for 18 yrs. Sold them and got a new model of Leica.

Next came Leica 10x50's ($900) and still have them as of today.
Then came Leica Geovid 7x42 ($2600) with the laser range finder. Which worked out to 1300 yrds. These are still with me today also. These Leica's have great light gathering ability.

Those, especially the newest one, would be a definite benefit for “reaching out” to those varmints.

At my age I can use all the help I can get but good optics are definitely not cheap. I’ve had several binoculars in the past but none of them come close to what you have. I’d love a set like your most recent one but my fixed income won’t allow me to.

If you have a “fire sale” when you decide to upgrade let me know !

That’s a serious glass lineup, it is pretty clear you’ve been spoiled by good optics for a long time.

Agree ! Serious as a heart attack !…..that I almost had when I saw the price tag ! Damn ! For that price I could pick up the lever gun I’ve been drooling over for a while AND hire a spotter !

One early morning I was standing alongside of the road, looking down over a clear-cut for Elk. There was around 10 other hunters watching too, but, no one could see anything because it was too dark yet.
But when I pulled out my 10×50 Leica's and said "no elk down there", that's when a couple of hunters came over to take look through my bino's and their first words were "WOW"!

Then lots of chatter resumed over what brand they were and where did I get them. But this scenario has played out many times over the years.

Pay the big bucks one time, and then you're done for the rest of your life........ I could also go on about spotting scopes, but that's for another day.
