Cardiology visit

Cardiology visit for my annual echocardiogram. Ejection fraction (measure of heart strength) was 65.1 Excellent is between 65 & 70%. Won't know about my aortic valve for a few days after a cardiologist reviews the tests. Was slightly worse last year (but still only moderate stiffening) Hopefully, surgery is still a little bit down the road!

Message from Cardiology:
"Dr. Bolles has reviewed your echocardiogram and said it demonstrated that your aortic stenosis has remained moderate. He recommends repeating the echocardiogram in 1 year to continue to monitor. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns."............

Staying moderate instead of progressing is exactly the news you want to hear. Another year before you have to think about it again is a real win. Glad the dancing emojis are warranted this time.

Glad to hear it’s not bad news. I’m dreading going to both my pulmonologist and cardiologist next month.

So far, despite heart issues and severe asthma, I'm still alive. Our Vancouver Clinic is really the best.

My issue is that every Medicare annual required visit, I keep losing height. In 3 years, I've dropped 3 inches. So, my weight is the same. But my BMI keeps going up...

BTW, the words to remember are Baseball, Flower, Elephant

Vancouver clinic was the place my primary sent me most of the time. Either there or Legacy.
Bad news hit me in December/January when TVC decided to stop taking my insurance. United Healthcare Medicare Advantage. I’m still not caught up finding new doctors. My primary’s office asked me to research and find possible doctors. Whaaat? Was able to go online and get a laundry list of those who (supposedly) take my insurance (Lagacy/Peace/anybody). Now if they ask I just plop the shelf of paper on their desk.
Problem is two fold….or more…. First they aren’t familiar with any of the doctors listed, then once they (blindly) pick one they have to confirm they do take my insurance, and “are they taking new patients?”
Last gastro guy they sent me to spoke “broken” English with an accent I could barely understand. I don’t need a language barrier when I’m taking about my health. Right now I’m more than a little bit disappointed in the system here…..and pissed at TVC.

My vision care doctor, whom I like, is at TVC. My vision insurance is separate from my medical insurance; unless the eye procedure is considered a “medical” issue like my cataract surgery was.

TVC isn’t handling the change well. I went in for my annual eye exam and was told the appointment was cancelled. Huh?? Apparently someone at TVC saw my health insurance on file and didn’t look any further; so they cancelled my appointment WITHOUT NOTICE. Uncool.

Now I’m faced with starting over.

Sorry about your TVC experience. We've had them for at least 40 years and they have served us well. Through multiple back surgeries, breast cancer (my wife), multiple heart surgeries, injuries, and asthma (me). Etc.

Only hiccup was when I got went to the gynecologist thinking it was the geriatric department.

I had United for one month. Service was so bad, I went back to Regence/Blue cross-Blue Shield. They're a local Oregon/SW WA and really nice people to deal with. They actually answer the phone. TVC accepts them. We pay $78/no ea. for Medicare Advantage

Gender identity problems????

I went with Primera/Blue Cross/Blue Shield for my Federal insurance. Our retirement guys (in a retirement preparation seminar) said we couldn't beat them after retirement for cost or coverage. Feds still pay 1/2 to 2/3 of my Premiums.

Yeah, I get mixed up easily. Almost got arrested when I confused the pediatrician with the podiatrist.

Went to the Doctor yesterday. He told me I was suffering from early onset rigor mortis.
