What's your go-to carry revolver and what makes it your top choice? I'm interested in insights from those who carry wheelguns on a daily basis about their real-world experiences and what they find works best.

I've carried S & W Model 19 snubnosed, Colt Detective Special, Several other S & W J-frame snubbies, a Charter Arms 44 Bulldog, even a Colt SAA "Sheriff's Model" in 44 spl. All had drawbacks, usually either weight, size, or capacity. The best was the Colt Detective Special (6 shots, +P and even ++P). The Detective Special was a surplussed security gun from the Lockheed "Skunk Works". Second were the "Humpback" S & W J-frames. However, I never shot them except at the range, although I did carry several daily after I got my CCW.

I usually carry my S&W M60 - 3" 38sp.
S&W 38 sp.webp

Personally, I would carry a 357 Magnum. Can always load down with 38 Special (all the way down to wadcutters which are more effective than most people imagine) up to heavy magnum loads. A 3-4 inch SA/DA revolver with appropriate grips.

The little woman carries one of two:
A Ruger Security Six in 357 mag, and a Model 19 S&W snubby, owned by my best buds Dad who was a Seattle cop in the 30s.

Like many others, I've been drifting away from semiautos into wheel guns for EDC. I have several 2" snubbies (38's and 357's) but decided to get a 3" in 38Spl. I opted for the Taurus 856 Defender rated for 38Spl +P ammo. Basically, I wanted a 3" to fill the void between my 2" and 4-6" big boys. My next gun will be a Ruger Security Six in 2.75", Stainless Steel.

My bud has a SP101 in 357 mag and a 1.5 inch barrel.
With any standard 357 load it flies out of his hand.
I hand to make him custom 38 special rounds just so he can handle it.
Made me not want to go any shorter than 4 inches.
Id hate to fire a 357 snubby. The 38 specials are a hand full.

I have an SP101, man they are heavy. I do like the Ruger LCR for its weight.

I fired ONE commercial 357 load from a 2" and said, 'never again'. I download 357's to their very low end of charge or very high end 38Spl +Ps.
