Local Gunsmith Recommendations

Hey everyone, I'm in need of a reliable gunsmith for some custom work. If you've had a good experience with someone, please share their name and what they did for you!

Peter Dunn at Ben's Loans in Renton is a great smith. He was the Gunsmith for Detonics for many years and is the go to for Detonics 1911s. He's also solved an issue with a .380 Beretta with an aluminum frame, an AR issue, and helped me repair several 1911 projects where I was in over my head (timing issues). He will draw pictures for you to help explain problems, how things work, etc. Unfortunately, I think Peter is backing off his work schedule, but Check with Ben's Loans if you want to see him.

Another group of gunsmiths is in Tukwila. Tho I've never used them, C and R (CAR) has a very good reputation.

What kind of work do you need? Scott King, but he's semi-retired and kinda hard to reach. (509) 782-4246. Has done a LOT of target rifle and long range stuff for a friend. Scope mounting, H&K work, stock repair for me
