I’ve developed some mild tinnitus over the years and now I’m trying to maximize hearing protection at the range. Doubling up with plugs and muffs helps, but I’m curious what others do.

I’m doing the foam and ear muffs also.
I’ve been reading on my forums that muzzle brakes cause concussion and hearing protection doesn’t help with this. Concussion will go right into your skull.
I just ordered my first suppressor. Hopefully it will be better for my health.

Tinnitus sucks! I've had it so bad that I couldn't sleep. The longest stretch was about a week. I can definitely see how it would drive someone absolutely, stark raving crazy. It was so loud, I couldn't hear anything else. A doctor did some experimental massage treatment that worked thank goodness. I still have Tinnitus, but it sounds like light static in the background, instead of a solid, loud hihh pitched tone.

I wear double hearing protection for everything now, just trying to save the little bit I've got left.

The best I found (pre-electric) were a pair my brother gave me. He served on the USS Constellation and they were from the flight deck. Don't know where he got them.
