.22 Pistol question

Hey, what do you all use your .22 pistols for? I'm thinking of getting one but wondering if it's really useful or if it will just end up sitting in the safe

Bring them out periodically and have a ball. Recently, got into Mossberg bolt action .22s and the Rugers go right along!

I used my for dispatching wounded coyotes.

I've used my Browning Buckmark on prairie dogs in the wheat fields. And a Phoenix Arms pistol on tin cans.

I take mine for some low-cost range time and hunt, it works better than you'd think.

They accumulate don't they? I have at least 11 .22 LR. Maybe...oh wait, 13...

I shoot speed steel matches with mine. Also hunt hunt rabbits after a fresh snow. I carry it for grouse, but my eyes are getting older, and I need one under about 25 yards for a clean headshot.

Mine don't accumulate...they breed! Never know what happens behind that safe door!

I use mine for cheap practice and to eliminate unwanted animals, they keep my basic skills sharp without costing a lot.

The year I graduated from high school (1968), I worked on my cousin's mining lease in the national forest (actually just scouted deer and explored, picked berries, etc.). Carried my brand new graduation present daily: A Ruger Single Six 22/22WMR. Carried it for snakes and to intimidate any trespassers. Really only shot woodrats with it.

I use mine for cheap practice at the range and for dealing with small pests. It’s always in use
