I've been a gun nut since the mid-50's when my dad let me shoot his bolt action .22lr rifle. I made do with that until I earned enough to buy my own semi-auto tube fed rifle. I shot plenty of Dad's other pistols including his Gov't 1911 when I was in Jr. High. Military led me to another 1911 and an M14, and eventually the M16. The 1911 served me well as I was in the Armored Cav and was (in my mind) my primary weapon, as I was a wheel & track mechanic. After active, I got my own 1911, several revolvers and eventually had to buy a second safe and now a third. I've taken various armor courses, reloaded for a long while, learned a lot of disassembly, modifying and repair on my own. Got into competition style shooting late, and managed to be mid-pack until age-related issues mad that less enjoyable. I quit reloading, but still shoot at least once per week, and always carry (multiple state permits). I arm wrestle with my idiot state congress people when I can, to no avail. But I like to hear whatever idiocy they espouse to support their illegal, "common sense" actions. I don't post much, but when I do it is probably in a repair, modify or gunsmithing forum. Glad to be part of a state group. Pat
