I'm thinking of grabbing a .32 for some range fun and maybe pocket carry. I'm looking at .32 ACP or .32 H&R but I'm not sure which one to get

Would you be comfortable with limited shots in a small pocket revolver? If not, get a 32 acp. I read in a Guns & Ammo book on pocket pistols that OSS agents during WWII preferred the 32 acp over the 380 because of reliability and better accuracy. Don't know about current loads for the 32. I have an HK4 in 32 acp and have carried a Walther PP in 32. The BEST pocket pistol I've had was a 1903/1908 Colt Hammerless. I realized the limitations and considered them "Let-Go-Of-Me" sidearms. I currently have an LCP in 380 that I use to run to the market, walk the dog, etc. It's loaded with LeHigh bullets.

It really depends on what you want it for because .32 ACP and .32 H&R Magnum are quite different

Old pistols are cool to learn about. .32s are underrated...they don't kick much and you can carry more bullets than with a small .380 or J-frame. That makes them great for putting in your pocket and shooting quickly

From what I’ve seen, the .32 ACP is soft and dependable. The .32 H&R packs more punch but ammo can be hard to find.

Personally, I've never seen much/any use for souped-up 32 revolvers when 38's were available. If the 38 Special was "too much" there was the 380/300 (38 S & W) or light 38 Special loads and I-frame or J-frame revolvers.

I just never got into .32s of any kind. I have a .38 Spl J-frame for utter reliability with any load. But my easiest carry is a Browning1911-380. Flat, light with 8 shots, plus an extra magazine is pretty light (although it's hard to imagine a realistic scenario in which the second mag would be needed).
