This another bolt action mystery:
New rifle in 7mm mag (make not revelant).
Customer brought in a new gun saying it shot 2" groups at 100 yds.. So I glass bedded the action and floated the barrel. After a week he was back and he was saying there was no improvement and he was shooting the same factory ammo.
So I suggested that we put a different scope on and try it. So I put a new Leupold on top for him. Well, he was back again a week later and still not shooting good. So I am thinking maybe it's him.
So I had him leave the gun for me until the next day. What I found out was, the problem was with the gun. Nothing to do with the bedding or scope. All ammunition worked as it should. The gun had to be sent back to the factory for repaired.
Any ideas what might have been causing the problem?
Hint: had nothing to do with the bolt.
